Product design

The Pix Automático project was driven by a regulatory mandate from the Central Bank of Brazil, requiring a full product design in only one week. Unlike most financial features, this was an entirely new modality, with no existing benchmarks in the market and a very limited discovery phase.
The main challenge was to interpret a highly technical regulatory manual and translate it into a clear, intuitive, and trustworthy experience for Banco PAN customers. Every design decision needed to be compliant, precise, and fast, leaving no room for ambiguity or rework.

With limited discovery time and no market references, the Central Bank’s Pix Automático manual became the core design input. The approach was regulation-first but experience-led: starting from mandatory rules and carefully shaping each step to reduce cognitive load, increase transparency, and reinforce user trust.
The journey was structured to give users full control over their recurring payments, clearly explaining what they were authorizing, how charges would occur, and how they could pause or cancel at any moment. Clarity, predictability, and safety were treated as non-negotiable UX principles.

These situations were not treated as edge cases, but as core moments of the experience. Clear messaging and consistent feedback ensured that users always understood what was happening and what actions were available, reinforcing confidence in a highly sensitive financial operation.

Even with severe time and discovery constraints, the Pix Automático experience was delivered as a complete, scalable, and regulation-compliant solution. The project reinforced the role of design as a bridge between regulation, technology, and user trust, showing that even mandatory financial products can be intuitive, transparent, and user-focused when designed with rigor and clarity.
